Historical milestones of Dolinka: 115 years since its foundation

On December 10, 2024, a round table "Dolinka: historical milestones" was held at the Museum of Memory of Victims of political repression, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the founding of the village of Dolinka. The purpose of the event is to form an information culture as a means of developing one's own horizons, exploring one's native land, and preserving the historical sites of Karlag.

The event was attended by the management of the museum, the old residents of the Dolinka village - Honored teacher of the Dolinka school - Khomich Svetlana Alexandrovna, Klimenko Gennady Romanovich - former manager of the first department of the Central Irrigation Department of Karlag, honorary residents - Tamara Pavlovna Komok, Natalia Ivanovna Terikhova, Askhat Aidarovich Khamzin, head of the information and bibliographic department of Shakhtinsk - Elena Viktorovna Evsikova, research staff, guides and students of secondary schools in the region.

During the round table meeting, topics about the history of the founding of the village and the historical sites of Dolinka were discussed. The museum's research staff presented presentation materials on the topics "Dolinka - the history of its creation", "Dolinka Medicine", "Karlag's defense industry during the Great Patriotic War". The head of the information and bibliographic department of Shakhtinsk, E.V.Evsikova, presented visual materials on the research work of the village of Dolinka and other settlements in the region (archival photographs, books from the Karlag library of the 30-50's, information manuals). The old-timers of the village shared information preserved in their memory about the history of the formation of the "capital" of Karlag - the village of Dolinka, about famous repressed people who served time in the camp, about the conditions of detention of children of prisoners, about the development of agriculture in the region during the 1930-50s.

Life is not a walk across the field as the saying goes. Each year lived is not like the other, each one left a mark in the memory. Generations are changing. Time and people create their own history. Preserving the memory of the native land, the village, and knowledge of its past is necessary for the self-awareness of the people.
